“Music should move, touch and give the listener a glimpse of your persona and energy.” -McKinley

The Myron McKinley Trio is made up of multi-talented musicians; Myron McKinley (keys), Ian Martin (bass), and Stacey Sydnor (percussion). Although the trio worked together previously on various projects over the years, at the 2014 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California the trio was finally formed. After the show, two things happened: first, a fan posted a video of their performance on Facebook. And second, once the trio heard the video went viral, they decided to make Jazz music as the The Myron McKinley Trio. More than just a group, these men are friends making music they love. When they perform together, you can’t help but be captivated by their thunderous sound, presence, and high energy on stage.

McKinley is a pianist, producer, songwriter, programmer, and film score composer for large box office films and television shows. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, McKinley began studying Jazz and Classical piano at the tender age of three. He is known for his contagious energy and fire. McKinley is a true perfectionist. He is all about making the best music he possibly can. And, like the other two members of the trio, McKinley has a long resume of working with the best in the industry. McKinley is currently performing as the Music Director and keyboardist for Earth Wind & Fire. He also toured with the late Whitney Houston, worked with LL Cool J and Tupac, Stanley Clarke, and many other artist.

Ian Martin is an accomplished bassist, writer, and producer. He was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. At age eight, Martin started playing piano, and then switched to drums, and eventually ended up playing the bass. He attended college in the United States, but didn’t officially move to Los Angeles until 2001. Martin’s calmness is considered the “glue” of the trio; he perfectly balances out McKinley and Sydnor’s animated high spirits. Martin has had an accomplished solo career and worked with many other artists like David Foster, Quincy Jones, and Macy Gray to just name a few.

Stacey Sydnor is a music director, producer, drummer, percussionist, songwriter, and composer for an assortment of Emmy winning TV shows. Just like his fellow bandmates, he has worn a lot of different hats. Born and raised in Crystal Hill, Virginia, Sydnor began playing the snare drums at the age of eleven. At one point, Sydnor was even enlisted as a U.S. Marine. Being as he is the comic of the group, Sydnor attracts the audiences with his humor and keeps the group at a constantly high energy level. Sydnor has worked with every possible genre of music and performed with artists like Hilary Duff, Jonathan Butler, Flo Rida, P. Diddy, and Alicia Keys. He is the current drummer for “The Jacksons” 50th Anniversary Tour.

For all three of the men, it’s not about pumping out music to make a name for themselves; been there done that. It’s about having fun and making great music. All of their songs are original and written collaboratively. As veterans of the music industry, it's no wonder their music has already gotten an overwhelmingly positive response. Their chemistry electrifies audiences and makes you believe that they have been playing together for decades. It’s something you have to see to believe.

Their first EP release, “Time”, has been picking up pace as radio stations in California, Georgia & Washington DC, have been getting requests for the popular group. . So keep a look out for more news, updates, music, and shows!
