Ed Vodicka
Ed Vodicka
You may not recognize his name, but you just may recognize some of the music created by pianist Ed Vodicka. His work with vocalists such as Anita O'Day and Bill Henderson are just two examples, not to mention his critically acclaimed recording with Henderson "Live at the Kennedy Center" and his years holding down the piano chair three nights weekly with both the Earl Palmer and John Heard/Roy McCurdy Trios at Los Angeles jazz club Charlie O's.

Or perhaps you are familiar with his arrangements and orchestrations for live concert events and recordings, or as a multi-keyboardist in the recording studio or musical director and conductor. Plus, he may be doing any of these things in New York as well as Los Angeles.

Nevertheless, Ed now brings his special tribute program to Vitello's. "With Respect to Oscar, Wynton and Red . . . A Personal Tribute to Oscar Peterson, Wynton Kelly and Red Garland." Of this program, jazz author and critic Scott Yanow wrote " . . . Ed Vodicka showed throughout the evening that he is one of the finest jazz pianists currently in the Los Angeles area."
